Cape Town Best Food Award
These awards are the longest-running and one of the most respected in the travel industry, celebrating the top destinations as voted on by millions of global travellers.
This past year, the Mother City claimed the top spot, outshining culinary giants like Milan and Valencia in an impressive ranking that brings international attention to South Africa’s vibrant food scene.
Cape Town’s food culture is a unique blend of African, Dutch, Malay, and Indian influences, offering up flavours you won’t find anywhere else in the world.
Whether you’re in the mood for spicy Cape Malay curry, classic fish and chips by the sea, or world-class wines, Cape Town’s gastronomic offerings highlight its rich cultural diversity and dedication to fresh, quality ingredients.
Meet the Members
A chat with Ken Kinsey-Quick, co-founder of Banhoek Chilli Oil, about the journey from kitchen experiments to national success and the opening of a global market.
It also birthed a community farming project run by locals in Banhoek Valley where they grow chillies for the oil. There are some interesting aside about entrepreneurial spirit and focusing applying simple principles to running a successful business.
I thoroughly enjoyed talking to Ken and learned a lot from our conversation.
